WOW-Keys Allows Desktop Keyboard and iPhone To Pool Their Resources

An iPhone is sported with various input features which are absent in the standard desktop keyboard, such as a re-configurable touchscreen display. However, typing with a full-sized keyboard is much easier compared to when you have to type on an iPhone. Therefore, Korea’s Omnio Technologies came with the idea to combine the strengths of these two separate devices, in the form of its WOW-Keys keyboard with built-in iPhone dock.
Two main purposes is served from the Wow keys.
If you wish to work more easily with your phone, without transferring files to and from a computer, all you have to do is simply put the keyboard in iPhone mode. In this configuration, the keyboard serves the phone, so its keys from the keyboard can be used in place of the phone’s tiny virtual keyboard, to input and manipulate text on the phone itself. The keyboard also comes with twelve dedicated hotkeys which offer shortcuts for various functions such as volume control, previous/next, and home.
With just a flip of the button, WOW-Keys can also be switched over to PC mode (which works with Macs). Now, since the phone serves the keyboard, its touchscreen display also acts as a multi-touch input device for the computer. The device can be featured as a touchscreen track pad or numeric keypad.

Like any other docking devices, the phone’s battery get charged from the keyboard and allows for syncing with the computer. It also works in the same way with the iPod touch.
Although WOW-Keys was first released by Korea (in Korea) late last year, the official shipping for the device begun just few days ago (May 24). The cost of the device is approximately US$100 and can be bought through various online retailers, which are listed on the website of its distributor.
