Sony Ericsson Canada website hacked

Canadians are once again at the centre of a Sony security breach after hackers targeted Sony Ericsson's eShop website, the company said Wednesday.
Names, e-mail addresses and encrypted passwords were among the data taken from some 2,000 Canadian users in the latest hit against the Japanese electronics giant.
The stolen personal information was later posted on a rogue website called "The Hacker News." No credit card data was taken.
The eShop website, a partnership between Sony and Sweden's Ericsson to promote their products, has been shut down.
In a separate attack on Tuesday, Sony websites were hacked in Greece, Thailand and Indonesia.
The company is still reeling from one of the biggest cyber attacks of all time, which saw personal information stolen from more than 100 million PlayStation Network and Sony Online Entertainment users. The company expects to have its PlayStation Network and Qriocity services up and running by the end of the month.
Sony expects to post a $3.2-billion dollar net loss for the fiscal year that ended in March as it tries to recover from the impact of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami and absorb at least $170 million in insurance and other damages related to the security breaches.
