2 of the Toughest Browser Based Games

We’ve all played most of the standard types of games out there: racing games, adventure games, role playing games, first person shooters, etc.  Today, I’m going to introduce you to 2 very hard games that are all about controlling basic muscle movements in your characters.
This may sound a little hokey, but I encourage you to keep reading and try these games out for yourself.  Both of the games, QWOP and GIRP, have seen positive reviews and comments, and they are free browser based games.  Let’s take a closer look.

QWOP

qwopThe first time I heard about that game, I thought it was one of those Galaxian style keyboard shootout games. I was correct only about the keyboard. After the first 10 attempts at this game, I was so pissed off that I went on to find out who would make this type of game.

With QWOP, you have to to control the runner’s leg and thigh muscles by repeatedly hiting the Q,W,O and P keys on the keyboard. I’d give tips on how to play, but I don’t really have any good ones. If you make a successful run, Olympic music plays and makes you feel like you accomplished something (because you have!). Our very own Ashish Mundhra has finished the game, and I’m sure he’d give you some tips if you ask.
Oh, I forgot to add something.  It obeys all of the laws of physics. After playing this game, you will respect your brain much more for how hard it actually is to walk, much less, run.
Screenshot looks funny, eh? That’s the best I could manage. Try it out yourself, and you will know-Play QWOP.

GIRP

girpAs if QWOP was not enough, the same makers have now brought forth GIRP.  This game is based on your character climbing on a cliff.  This game, too, is based on keypresses with a heavy amount of physics associated with it. You have to press a key that is written on a ring to grab it and keep it grabbed. Pressing the ctrl key gives your character a slight push upward and allows him to get a grip on the other keys (read rings). That is all you need to do to climb up the cliff.
I forgot to mention, as time advances, there will be a water level, and it will be constantly rise, so you have to climb quickly to make sure you don’t drown.
Sounds like a piece of cake? Well, try it out and know for yourself- Play GIRP.
